Gargoyles are carved and placed on buildings to scare away evil spirits. They are so ugly and queer they could even probably chase away a human!

Some gargoyles are on Egyption temples. Their carved mouthes are wide open and used to have water sprout out of it. On Greek temples and carved as alligators, lions, spiders, bats, and other furocious animals.
